Ockley Cricket celebration for all the village
Our ‘Coarse Cricket Sevens’ competition returns on Sunday 8th September 2024.

Get ready to swing into action with the Ockley Society's annual Cricket 7s tournament, set for Sunday 8th September! Designed for those aged 14 and above who aren't regular cricket players but want to dip their toes into the game, this event promises fun for all skill levels. We're especially on the lookout for aspiring captains eager to lead their own team.
Living in or around Ockley? This tournament is just for you! Teams consist of 7 players, with only one regular cricket player allowed, ensuring a level playing field. While the normal rules of cricket apply, including a traditional bowling action, underarm bowling is embraced to make it more accessible. 'No-balls' won't slow down the game, and batters gracefully retire after scoring 21 runs. Plus, it's important to us that everyone feels welcome – teams must include players of both sexes. Whether you're batting or bowling, there's a chance for everyone to shine.
