Cricket scoop: Ockley v Barbados

Ockley Cricket Club are pleased to announce Ockley First XI has been chosen to host and play a 30/30 game against the ‘Barbados XI’ on Sunday 11 June 2023. The ‘Barbados XI’ is a mix of Barbados test and county players. The team plays 3 games a year outside of Barbados, so this is a major scoop! 

Preparations are well underway and the game will be widely advertised.

1000+ spectators are expected to come and watch the game, including a few VIPs and ex test cricketers!

The marquee will be put up serving ‘teas’, cakes, snacks and hot/ cold drinks. The bar will be open, a mobile beer van is coming along with a couple of other food stalls. As you can imagine, the rum will be flowing!

 This is a huge opportunity for the village and surrounding area to showcase its beauty and charm.
