Barbados cricket in Ockley
After the successful cricket extravaganza held in Ockley in 2023, the Barbados Cultural Organisation, together with the Ockley Cricket Club, are pleased to announce the 2024 cricket extravaganza family fun day is coming back to Ockley on Sunday 7 July starting from 10am!
What to expect:
Ockley Cricket Club host the Barbados Cricket Extravaganza and Family Fun Day.
Carribean food, drinks and music.
Kids activities including a bouncy castle.
Brilliant cricket featuring Barbados pros and semi pros vs a Sussex and Surrey All Star team.
Local residents can purchase reduced price tickets in advance by Saturday 6th July from the Ockley Mini Mart or the Cricket Club Bar.
Adult tickets £8 (£12 on the day), Children’s tickets (ages 7-16) £5
The game will be Barbados vs. Surrey and Sussex all stars. The Barbados team will be made up of either pro or semi-pro Barbadian players, ditto the Surrey and Sussex all stars including a couple of Ockley’s best players.
Preparations are well underway and the day will be widely advertised. 2000+ spectators are expected to come including a few VIPs and ex test cricketers!
There will be a large variety of authentic Bajan stalls serving delicious Bajan food, together with merchandise and other tasty treats. The bar will be open, a mobile beer van will be on hand, a professional DJ will be busting out the tunes and the rum will be flowing!
This is a scoop for the village and an opportunity to showcase the beauty and charm of the area.
