OCKLEY POST OFFICE: at Ockley Cricket Club Pavilion.
Many of you will have noticed that the Post Office has not been open at the pavilion for a number of weeks. The service has been closed temporarily as there is no member of staff available.
Is this something that you would like to do? Work for a few hours per week on Post Office duties at the pavilion? If so, please contact: BUBBY at CAPEL POST OFFICE FOR MORE DETAILS 01306 711177. Sadly this Outreach Service will be permanently closed if staff aren't available.
Many thanks to Margaret for running the PostOffice service at the pavilion for somany years. We all really appreciate her help in setting up and running this service in the village.
This year’s Ockley Society Bonfire and Firework display did not be taking place on 2nd November.
We took this difficult decision purely for safety reasons. The marquee was up for two hours this morning and the winds were strong enough to make standing inside it feel very uncomfortable indeed. If the winds were going to pick up again this evening, we couldn’t risk something happening to the marquee with everyone inside.
There are plenty of other contributing factors, for instance keeping the fireworks and set pieces dry was going to be a challenge.
For those of you that have already purchased tickets, please keep these safe and sound. We are planning a replacement evening, involving a bonfire, BBQ and fireworks possibly in January and your tickets will be valid for this new event. As soon as we have a firm date and details we will post this to all our Facebook friends.
Once again we would like to express our thanks to our two sponsors Dorking Service Centre and Park Kitchens, they will of course be our guest sponsors at this new event.
